I didn’t “believe” in chiropractic
When I was just twelve years old I began to experience severe low back pain while playing sports. It would sometimes literally bring me to tears and affect my ability to walk. My parents took me to the pediatrician who offered some medicine that didn’t provide much relief. Then they had me try physical therapy for 6 weeks, which at the time made me feel even worse.
Then we saw a podiatrist who prescribed orthotics for my shoes thinking that would help – but it didn’t. As a last ditch effort my grandmother recommended that they take me to her chiropractor. Though my parents were apprehensive, they felt desperate. They couldn’t understand why I had so much pain. Well after just three (3) adjustments my low back pain was completely gone!
Considering I had experienced months of near constant pain, this was like a miracle. I finally had my life back. Chiropractic care helped me when nothing else did. Afterwards, I didn’t just “believe” in chiropractic… I had an absolute KNOWING. I experienced the affects first hand and knew it worked.
Dr. Wright began his pre-chiropractic education at the University of Buffalo where he studied the basic sciences such as inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, biology, along with basic physiology and anatomy courses. After graduating with honors, he was accepted at The National College of Chiropractic in Chicago, IL (still one of his favorite cities in the world!). During his four years at National, courses included biochemistry, a major emphasis on anatomy and human physiology, X-ray, MRI, diagnosis, nutrition, chiropractic adjusting techniques and patient care in the NCC Health Clinics.
After graduating in 1997 Dr. Wright returned to the Buffalo area to establish his practice. In 2012, Dr. Wright opened up a second satellite office in Amherst in order to better serve the north towns. Dr. Wright continues his education to this day with post graduate courses in MRI interpretation, disc pathology and nutrition. He holds an advanced certification in the Activator Method and is an associate clinical instructor teaching other doctors internationally. Dr. Wright is also a Diplomate in the American Academy of Medical Legal Professionals.

Though I am passionate about chiropractic and my practice, my family is my true love. My wife and four kids are my bliss and the reason for my drive and commitment. I come from a family of six and my wife Sue does as well. Though things get hectic, we love the energy of our busy household. The kids are growing so fast that we like to enjoy every minute we can. In fact we are kind of old fashioned with our family dinners where we all sit down together and talk about the day, no TV and no texting! Radical, I know. We also enjoy traveling, skiing, vacationing at the beach and exercising.
A happy family is but an earlier heaven”
George Bernard Shaw
When I do get a little down time, I love to read, entertain friends, exercise, and golf. I’ve always been involved in athletics including wrestling, football, baseball, martial arts and skiing. Consequently fitness is a big part of my life and a passion of mine. I’m also a self described car nut! I’m no mechanic but I enjoy all types of automobiles, old and new. I would have 20 vehicles if Sue would let me. Luckily she keeps me balanced – in more ways than one!
Dr. Wright’s Philosophy for Health
The approach I subscribe to and recommend to my patients is one that involves regular chiropractic check-ups to assess the balance and proper communication of the central nervous system as it relates to the whole body. As a result I make sure that my family and I get adjusted at least once each week as a preventative measure. In fact, over the years we have adopted many lifestyle changes in the interest of being well and for prevention.
Our diet is largely organic with at least 50% in the form of fruits and vegetables. We take whole food supplements to cover any short falls we may have and we drink a ton of water. We keep the empty carbs to a minimum, though a little ice cream once in awhile never hurt anyone! Each one of us exercises on a regular basis and participate in a variety of sports. I’m an advocate of daily meditation to help reduce stress and focus the mind. I picked it up in 2004 and it has been a part of my daily routine ever since. Years of study and research have lead me to these lifestyle choices and the subsequent recommendations that I make to my patients.
I have found in practice that the more consistently we give the body what it needs naturally, the better it becomes at self regulating and balancing. Maintaining ones health is far superior to treating a disease process that has already begun.
How can I help you?
I hope you have found the information on our site helpful and informative. Knowledge is important to create change and improvements, however, action is required. I don’t remember who gets credit for it, but I love the quote that the definition of insanity is to do the same thing over and over again expecting a different result. If you want different results, you need to try a different approach.
